New Day!!! 2-7-12

My grand daughter is making her first blanket...she is crocheting(at 10) she has so much energy. She love's to learn and amazes me. She wanted me to let you know she just got out of the shower.(Girl's)And that is why her hair is a mess.
So she got me going on my cross stitch....maybe I'll get it done. I cant believe how children lead us.
And a Child shall lead them. God bless them.
Sending love to all.
Love,Debbie:)

  3. She is the perfect age to get into crafts! Can you imagine what she will be crocheting in just a few years? Crocheting is also such a portable craft, you can take it with you and crochet in a number of places. She picked a good one!

  7. Oh my goodness Debbie, first of all thank you so much for the lovely comment you left on my blog. I came over to visit and saw the post about your granddaughter and had to smile. I have a granddaughter, my first grandchild and only granddaughter (also have 2 grandsons and a new baby on the way, maybe a little Julie???? I hope???)
Anyhow, I have my little Hailey, who I affectionately call Haileybelle, and she will be turning 9 in May. She loves crafts and I delight in teaching her. She reminds me of your granddaughter. I am remodeling a room in the basement, and I am even making a little sewing area for Hailey. I bought an absolutely adorable Hello Kitty sewing machine. I'll call it an early birthday present. I know it was out of the budget but I did get it on sale! I will be posting about the making of the craft room so you can see what I am talking about.
Also, when I saw the cross stitch kit in the picture I had to laugh because I have two or three of the four seasons of that particular set of cross stitches, just waiting for me to make them! Thanks for the reminder! Wow, we have a lot in common!
Tell your granddaughter I thought she looked beautiful, even with her hair not being done yet! And tell her to have Grandma post a picture of her with the finished blanket, I would love to see it! Also tell her my little Hailey is learning to crochet too and loves it! Maybe they should be penpals! Do people do that anymore?
    Hugs,
    Julie

  10. That's awesome that she is learning to crochet!
I'd love to teach my little girl to sew & crochet but at the moment she doesn't have the interest in it at all.

  13. Good luck on your Granddaughter's crocheting project. That is so special that she is learning so young. My sister crochets, knits, and sews, and I have always thought it was such a talent when one knows how to. Valentine is in the air on your side bar. Happy Valentine's Day, sweetie.
